BAKGRUND

Svenska institutet i Athen och Svenska institutet i Rom har sedan många år en väletablerad och välkänd publiceringsverksamhet som omfattar tidskriften Opuscula samt utgivning av konferensvolymer, publikationer från arkeologiska projekt och monografier. Alla publicerade alster genomgår internationell peer review.

The Swedish Institute at Athens has invited the jazz band Naoko Sakata Trio to perform at the

–  16th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 28, at 23.00 hours and
–  14th Preveza Jazz Festival on Sunday, May 29

The band consists of Naoko Sakata (piano), Alfred Lorinius (bass) and Johan Birgenius (drums).

TJÄNST SOM BITRÄDANDE DIREKTÖR VID SVENSKA INSTITUTET I ATHEN

Styrelsen för Svenska institutet i Athen ledigförklarar härmed tjänsten som biträdande direktör vid Institutet för en tid av två år att tillträdas den 1 januari 2017 eller enligt överenskommelse. Förordnandet kan förlängas med två år under förutsättning att den som innehar tjänsten inte förordnats på den vid ett tidigare tillfälle. Tjänstgöringen är förlagd till Athen. I tjänsten ingår forskning, administration och undervisning. Lön efter överenskommelse.

The workshop Digitizing the cultural heritage was held at the Swedish institute at Athens on Wednesday 16th March 2016 presenting the results of a three year infrastructural project aimed at inventorying and digitizing material from Swedish archaeological fieldwork in Greece, as well as the digitization project by the National Archive of Monuments at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The workshop that was held on 3 March 2016, brought together NGOs and voluntary organizations us­ing arts and artistic creativity as a working method to support and help immigrants, refugees and other minority groups with their inte­gration, learning, mental and social change.

The Ephorate of Antiquities of West Attika, Pireus and Islands, has invited the Swedish Institute’s director, Arto Penttinen, and assistant director, Jenny Wallensten  to give a lecture about the sanctuary of Poseidon on Poros.

The lecture will take Place at the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus on Wednesday 17th of February, at 7 p.m.
