The city of Soufli in northern Greece once lay along the Silk Road. It was an important European centre for silk production in the 19^th century and still maintain this industry, from larvae to finished fabric, albeit on a smaller scale. In this unique environment, the Swedish Institute at Athens brings together students from Konstfack, the Stockholm University of Arts, Craft and Design, and students from the corresponding Athens institution Athens School of Fine Arts.

On Friday, September 26 & Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Swedish baroque violinist Rebecka Karlsson will perform in Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas at the German Evangelical Church (Sina 68, Athens).

This will indead be a wonderful chance to experience baroque music at its finest!

The Greek Movie Days is a yearly event organized by the Swedish institute at Athens, the Greek House of Culture, the Greek School in Stockholm and the Women’s section of the Greek association in Stockholm.

The event is organized with the object of highlighting new and exciting Greek films and are being arranged this year for the sixth consecutive time.
