The Kavala Guesthouse, or the “Swedish House” as it is known locally, offers a stimulating yet restful work atmosphere for academics and artists in the northern Greek city of Kavala. The Guesthouse is open between March and November, and can to a certain extent also accommodate small-scale seminars, conferences and worksops.

The Guesthouse is a protected Bauhaus building located on a hill in the western part of Kavala, a 15-minute walk from the city center. It has ten bedrooms with one to three beds, and an apartment offering lodging for a maximum of five persons. The guests furthermore have access to two shared kitchens, two bathrooms, two WC, a large workspace with a PC connected to a printer and a scanner. The beautiful common room has a library and the terraces offer stunning views of the city and the Aegean Sea. The Guesthouse has a large garden including a small olive grove, vines and a herbary.

The Guesthouse is managed by a curator fluent in Swedish and Greek, whose office hours are Monday-Friday 09:30-15:00 (Greek time).
