Styrelsen för Svenska institutet i Athen ledigförklarar härmed två mindre forskningsstipendier för höstterminen 2023 och vårterminen 2024. Stipendierna är avsedda för dem som ägnar sig åt vetenskapligt och självständigt studium av ämnen med koppling till Institutets verksamhet och vilkas forskning förutsätter vistelse i Grekland. Studenter och forskare vid svenska universitet samt svenska studenter och forskare knutna till utländska universitet kan söka. Visst företräde ges för sökande från Antikens kultur och samhällsliv, men slutgiltig bedömning sker beroende på ansökningarnas kvalitet och relevans.

In May 2022, the Swedish film director Ruben Östlund won the prestigious Palme d’Or of the Cannes Film Festival for the second time, competing with The Triangle of Sadness. To celebrate this, the Swedish Institute of Athens and ASTOR invite you to a screening of this film, which will take place at ASTOR cinema, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 9 p.m.

The film will be introduced by Rea Walldén, Assistant Professor of Film Studies at the University of Athens.

Jorunn Økland, University of Oslo, will give a talk entitled “Object Agency”, or: How to fill an Amphitheatre with people.

The Swedish Institute at Athens, the Institutes and Embassies of the Northern Countries in Athens, the Library of the Northern Countries and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kavala invite you to the opening of the exhibition The Nordics which will take place at the Archaeological Museum of Kavala on Wednesday 28 September 2022 at 19.00.

The Greek Movie Days is a yearly event organized by the Swedish institute at Athens, the Greek House of Culture, the Greek School in Stockholm and the Women’s section of the Greek association in Stockholm. The event is organized with the object of highlighting new and exciting Greek films.

Alaya Palamidis, Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès, will give a talk entitled The wanderings of Apollo Patroos on the Athenian agora.
