European Day of Languages 2025

Celebrate this year’s European Day of Languages with us at the Pedion tou Areos in Athens!

Saturday 27 September 2025, 10.00 - 14.00 Pedion tou Areos, Αrion area.

For the 13th consecutive year, the Cultural and Educational Institutes and the Embassies of 14 European countries – members of the EUNIC Athens (European Union National Institutes for Culture) network – in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Athens, the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), and the Network for Children’s Rights, with the support of the Region of Attica, invite young and old alike to embark on a journey through languages across Europe and to discover the fascinating world of languages and dialects through a family-friendly program.

With “Democracy” as its central theme, highlighting the role of language and culture as a means of cultivating and promoting democratic values, and presenting them as key factors in strengthening children’s skills in active citizenship and participation in a prosperous society, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in educational workshops for children, engage in discussions with the organizing institutions, and receive commemorative gifts.
