Short biography
Joel Lyssarides (b. 1992) began playing the piano at the age of 4. After finishing his studies at the Royal College of Music in Sweden, Lyssarides was - at the age of 21 - awarded one of Sweden’s biggest music awards, the Jan Wallander Prize. The prize included a brand-new Steinway B grand piano as well as access to a rehearsal studio in central Stockholm. In 2019, Lyssarides was named Musician of the Year by the Swedish radio. As one of Sweden’s best-selling jazz artists, his music has been streamed over 60 million times on digital streaming platforms.
Joel Lyssarides Trio was formed in 2017 and it has since then released three critically acclaimed albums. The most recent one, Stay Now, was nominated for the Swedish Grammys in April 2023.
