Play Brännboll and Kubb!

Join the Swedish Institute at Athens, together with the Swedish Church in Greece, the Nordic Academy, the Swedish-Greek Club, and SWEA, for an evening of classic Swedish outdoor games at Common Grounds Festival.

On Friday, 17 July, from 7:00–8:30 pm, we invite you to discover (or rediscover!) two beloved Swedish summer traditions: Brännboll and Kubb. Whether you’re an experienced player or trying them for the very first time, everyone is welcome.

Bring your family and friends, enjoy the summer evening, meet new people, and experience the joy of playing together in one of Sweden’s favourite outdoor traditions.

About Common Grounds Festival

From 15–17 July, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) hosts Common Grounds, a vibrant intercultural festival where communities from around the world come together to share traditions, stories, music, dance, workshops, and interactive activities. Throughout the festival, the Great Lawn is transformed into a welcoming meeting place that celebrates dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange.
