Water resource in time and space: Focus Greece

2016-11-17

Is an educational program the Swedish Institute at Athens organizes in collaboration with the universities in Stockholm and Linköping.

The program focuses on the use and abuse of water resource in a diachronic perspective. It takes place right now at NEO (Navarino Environmental Observatory), a research facility in the midst of the golf courses of the renowned Costa Navarino resort and not far from the Late Bronze Age site named the Palace of Nestor after the mythical king of Messenia. There are also several Medieval fortresses in the region, which are being studied from the point of view of the water resource.

Except from Sweden, this year’s students in the program come from countries as far apart as Canada, the UK, Germany, Lithuania, Mongolia and China.
