Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum

The Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum (CVA) is a series quality catalogues of mostly ancient Greek painted pottery in collections around the world. The series started in 1922 and since then almost 400 have appeared.

Opuscula. Annual of the Swedish Institutes at Athens and Rome is published annually by the Swedish Institutes at Athens and Rome. First issued in 2008 (no. 1), Opuscula replaces the annuals Opuscula Atheniensia and Opuscula Romana published by the Swedish Institute at Athens and the Swedish Institute in Rome respectively.

The Swedish Institute welcome Dr Jens Mangerud as the new Head Librarian of the Nordic Library at Athens.

Jens holds his doctorate from the University of Oslo in the field of Ancient Greek Papyrology and has worked as a Senior Academic Librarian at the University of Oslo Library where he was the Subject Specialist for Ancient Greek and Latin. He has also managed and been involved in the digitalization of the University Library’s papyrus collection.

The digital workshop New Currents in Ancient Water Studies is arranged in cooperation between the Swedish Institute at Athens and the Frontinus Gesellschaft. The event aims to present ongoing projects studying the water supply in the ancient world from the Levant and North Africa to the northern provinces of the Empire and Rome itself.

Kursen är en introduktion till arkeologi i Grekland och vänder sig till studenter inom humaniora. Kursen ger en grundläggande förståelse för det antika Greklands arkeologi och omfattar studier av arkeologiskt material, utgrävningsplatser, arkitektur, monument och museisamlingar från olika tidsperioder. Temat för vårens kurs är den cykladiska övärlden. Kursen äger delvis rum i Athen och på de cykladiska öarna dit exkursioner företas.
