The small town of Soufli in Northern Greece once lay along the Silk Road, and in the 19th century the city developed into an important European center for silk production. Soufli produces silk until this day, from caterpillar and cocoon to finished fabric. In this unique, tradition-rich environment filled with advanced craftsmanship, students and teachers from KONSTFACK and the Athens School of Fine Arts meet during an inspiring week organized by SIA. Through study visits, workshops and seminars focused on silk, they learn to understand every step of a sustainable production process and learn about this legendary material in detail.
